Breaking the rules

Hi everyone!
As every girl, I grew up with a set of fashion rules that I would learn along the way and one, and most important one of them, was that petite women must not use oversize clothes or else they would "disapear". For years and years I belived and stayed by that, until one day, puff, everything changed and the fashion statement was actually to break the rules. Suddendly everyone was wearing oversize, mixing bold colors, mixing prints, wearing sandals in winter, boots on summer... And after trying all of them there still was one missing, that I was certain I could never pull it off, the oversize blazer. But when I saw this one I was so in love with it that I decided to adventure for once.
So, in the end, rules are to be broken, right? :p

Como qualquer rapariga, eu cresci com uma série de regras de moda que ia aprendendo aqui e ali e tinha-as como dogmas divinos do que vestir e não vestir. Uma das mais importantes era que as raparigas baixinhas não devem usar roupa oversize para não "desaparecerem".
Durante anos e anos acreditei e cumpri sempre esta regra, até que um dia, puff, tudo mudou! Estávamos a quebrar todas as regras, roupa oversize, misturar cores primárias, misturar padrões, usar sandálias no inverno, botas no verão... e acho que depois de ir quebrando todas essas regras e aderindo à última moda, só ficou por quebrar uma - o oversize blazer.
Essa achava mesmo que não ia conseguir esperimentar, até que me apaixonei por este blazer e decidi aventurar-me.
Afinal, as regras são para se quebrar, não é?

A Day with Betty

Hi everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great Monday (or as great as Mondays can be :p)
I had one last post to show you from when Betty came to visit me at the begining of October. Betty also did a post all about it in her blog, here, and the photos are so amazing!
We had a wonderful time, we hadn't seen each other in two years and it was so great seeing her after so long. We had a lot of fun that day, it was a bit cloudy, but I also love this kind of grey days, they are kind of magical, don't you think?
That day we went for a walk around town, took some photos, visited all the places we used to go, had tea and macaroons, and at night had dinner with friends and went to the movies. It was a perfect day and I only wish I could spend more days like this with her! :)

Espero que estejam todos a ter uma boa segunda-feira (dentro do possível :p)
Tinha guardadas umas fotos de quando a Betty me visitou, no início de Outubro. A Betty também fez um post sobre a sua visita a Aveiro no seu blog, que podem ver aqui, as fotos estão espectaculares!
Foram uns dias excelentes, já não nos víamos há 2 anos e foi tão bom vê-la após tanto tempo. Este dia em especial foi ótimo, tirámos o dia para passear as duas, estava um dia muito cinzento, mas também gosto de dias assim, têm algo de mágico, não acham?
Nesse dia passeámos pela cidade, tirámos fotos, visitámos todos os sítios onde costumávamos ir quando andávamos no secundário, tomámos chá e comemos macarons, e ao final do dia tivemos um jantar com amigos e depois fomos ao cinema. Foi um dia mesmo perfeito, e só gostava de ter mais assim com ela! :)

Shop Guide: Tartan

Hi everyone!

So in request to a friend I'm doing another shop guide, this one about tartan pieces. This pattern is a major protagonist of fall and winter and the best of it is that it can be found in any piece, from skirts to bags, and it looks great with other patterns, like stripes, polka dots and flowers, so I think that it is a must-have to our fall wardbrobe! ;)

A pedido de uma amiga, decidi fazer outro shop guide, desta vez sobre peças tartan. Este padrão é um dos grandes protagonistas deste Outono e Inverno e a melhor parte é que pode ser encontrado em qualquer tipo de peça, desde saias a malas, e combina muito bem com outros padrões, como riscas, bolas e flores, assim que o considero um must-have do nosso guarda-roupa de Outono! ;)

Sweet as Fall

Hi everyone!
So I had this pictures for a couple of weeks, and for me it's a perfect "beginning-of-fall-look" because of the colors and all the layering. It was one of those days that start chilly but at noon the sun gets really warm so it's important to have many layers to dress and undress accordingly (kind of like an onion! :p)
I bought this skirt this season at Benetton and I don't know why but this brand has been lowering the prices and now they have a few items that have great qualities at great prices, so if you haven't been to Benetton lately, I suggest you take a second look. The rest of the pieces aren't new, specially for the hat, I know I wear it too much but I just love it and it brings so much spark to an outfit! :)

Tirámos estas fotos há umas semanas, e para mim este é um "look-perfeito-deinício-de-outono" por causa das cores e das camadas de roupa. Foi um daqueles dias que começa frio, mas quando chega ao meio-dia o Sol começa a aquecer e daí a importância das camadas, para ir vestindo e despindo conforme a necessidade (como uma cebola! :p)
Comprei esta saia na Benetton esta temporada e não sei porquê mas a marca tem vindo a baixar os preços nos últimos anos e agora têm bastantes items de boa qualidade a preços bastante acessíveis, assim que se tinham a Benetton esquecida, sugiro que dêem uma segunda vista de olhos. O resto das peças não são novidade já as tinha mostrado todas, especialmente o chapéu, sei que o tenho usado muito mas é que adoro o brilho que traz aos looks! :)

1 Shirt: 2 Ways (Part II)

Hi everyone!

Today I bring you the second part of the double post. Yesterday I showed a look with this shirt and a floral skirt. They both have different paterns but I think they go well together.

This time I combined the same shirt but with jeans for a more relaxed look. I have had this jeans for more than 5 years now, because I almost never wear them and they're as good as new. This combo is not very me, I always feel weird wearing pants, but I added a little personal touch with the hat and necklace.

Just to finalize, today was a good day, I'm really tired, but all went well, I brought my umbrella with me and saw interesting cases this morning. Now I'm on pediatrics and it's good to work with little kids, altought when they are sick they can be very tiresome.

Olá a todos!

Hoje trago-vos a segunda parte do duplo post. Ontem mostrei-vos um look com esta mesma camisa combinada com uma saia de flores. Ambas peças têm padrões diferentes mas gosto como combinam.

Desta vez combinei a camisa com calças de ganga, um look mais descontraído. Tenho estes jeans há uns cinco anos e estão como novos porque quase nunca os uso, é mesmo estranho para mim usar calças.

Esta combinação não é muito eu, mas adicionei um toque mais pessoal com a boina e o colar brilhante. 

Espero que gostem das fotos! Vou mostrar mais vezes esta camisa por aqui assim como mais peças tartan, já que ando tão apaixonada neste padrão.

Só para acabar, hoje o dia correu muito melhor, apesar de chegar a casa mesmo cansada, foi bom. Desta vez trouxe o guarda-chuva comigo (e bem jeito deu!) e vi casos muito interessantes esta manhã. Estas semanas estou no serviço de pediatria e gosto de trabalhar com as crianças, apesar de serem muito cansativas quando estão doentes.
