Disney Inspiration: Jane Porter

Hi everyone! Since it's almost Halloween and since I'm not dressing up this year I decided to show you two outfits of the series Disney-inspired.
Actually, Jane was the first outfit I did, before even thinking about going forward with this series. It was late summer and I went for a walk on the beach with my boyfriend and had just seen Tarzan with my sister the night before and just thought to my self "I have a skirt that would be so Jane-like" and so why not make the all outfit inspired by her?
So here is the final result, a mix between England-lady-Jane and jungle-Jane, the contrast of yellow and army-green, the beach, and a bonus feature, a ship that you can see on the first picture.
I hope you like the photos, we had a lot of fun doing them and the best about this Disney series is that it makes me do combinations that I would not normally wear, and makes me step out of my "closet confort zone", so there will be more princesses to come!
Hope you have a great Halloweeny weekend! ;)

See you soon,
Tere

Espero que tenham um fim-de-semana "assustador" ;)

Até breve,
Tere

Disney Inspiration: Esmeralda

Hi everyone!
Here we are with another Disney inspired post! :)
So this time I didn't choose a Disney princess, about she also counts as one to me. Esmeralda is a brave and very independent girl that always speaks her mind and is so selfless and really cares about others.

When I was little I loved this movie so much (like every single one from Disney) and watched it over and over. My favorite part was the final scene, of the battle, when the gargoyles are going crazy at the police enforcement, I could not stop laughing!
Also, when I was little I really wanna dress up as Esmeralda for Halloween but that never came trough, so now I got the chance to do it, ok, sort of :p
So I inspired in Esmeralda's both outfits and this was the result: I'm actually wearing a dress (that I have showed you here) with a white crop top over and a denim shirt (because she wears a turquoise corset).
I wore a golden belt that kind of reminded me of her coin scarf and gold bag and shoes to match.

I hope you like the results! It's difficult to make an outfit so detailed when I don't have all my clothes with me. I have most of my closet in Portugal and only bring the essentials with me for Barcelona (and the essentials to me already covers a lot of stuff :p). Maybe in some months from now I'll do another Esmeralda-inspired-outfit because I have so many more ideas!

You can check out the previous Disney inspired post, about Cinderella and Aurora.
See you soon,
Tere

Tere

Disney Inspiration: Aurora

Hello everyone!
How are you today?
We continue with the disney inspiration posts, and the second princess I chose was Aurora. For many years I tought Aurora was absolutly stunning, with her long blonde locks and green eyes, and I have always loved her first outfit the most, the one she wears in the woods. She's one of the few princesses to wear black and grey and I think it looks great on her. The look is inspired on that particular outfit and I tried to go kind of a modern-Aurora, I think that she would wear this if she lived in our days, do you agree?
We took this photos last Sunday (along with other photos that will appear soon on the blog and will have a very special guest) and the background turned out to match really great with the theme.
These photos look better than usual because they were taken by my great friend Betty, she's an amazing photographer and does magic with her camera!
Hope you like the photos!
See you soon,
Tere

Tere

Disney Inspiration: Cinderella

"A dream is a wish your heart makes", Cinderella

Hi everyone!
Let's face it, we all just adore Disney, am I right? We grown up watching these wonderful movies, we would watch them on tape, over and over, we know all the songs, all the characters, and every girl, deep down, wants to be a disney princess, and in a way, we all kind of are! :)
From time to time I like to re-watch some disney movies and this Summer I had a marathon with my sister and watched every one, and I entered this disney-mode so strongly, that I decided to create looks based on the princesses.
I will try to do them all, or all that I can do, in the next months. I hope you like the idea! :)
So, I decided to start this series with one of the most classical princesses, Cinderella. Cinderella is a hard working girl, she's persistent, kind and a dreamer. By recreating her I wanted to show you the real essence of her, with the gown, not the maiden-uniform. Her dress is so magical, it's soft blue, puffy, shinny, and unique. I adapted it to a day-to-day look by matching a soft blue crop-top with a soft-pink tule skirt for the puffy look. My shoes aren't made from glass, but a silver shinny sandals, which is pretty much the same (let's pretend it is :p). I wore my hair up, and embellished it with a silver headband and pearl earrings, I thought the headband was really modern-Cinderella.
For the finishing touch I included a pocket watch for the photos, just to make sure I arrive home before the midnight ;)
I wore this look yesterday, it was a really hot day around here, and I think nobody looked at me funny. I tried to make the look very day-to-day without loosing the princess sparkle.
I'm already thinking about the next disney look! ;)
I hope you liked it! :)

See you soon,
Tere

Espero que tenham gostado!

Até breve,
Tere
