A Fall Postcard (and major changes)

Hi everyone!

So you have problably noticed that I have changed my blog tittle from "Tere's Scrubs" to "Pretty Little Stories". I know, it's a major change and I am here to explain you why.

When I first created the blog and was thinking about a title I came up with "Tere's Scrubs" because scrubs are what I wear to the hospital and scrubs are to the hospital as my clothes are to my daily life. Unfortunately not a lot of people are familiar with the term and so I got frustrated and started thinking of a new name a while ago. It's very hard to define yourself in a title, but after many tries I thought the best one for me was "Pretty Little Stories" because here I share not only my outfits but also little stories of mine and thought the term really suited who I am. I created this blog to express my creativity and I think it's best if I leave all hospital related stuff far away.

I'm still trying to figure out how I can change my url without loosing my GFC followers, so if you know how to please let me know.

Hope you like the new name and new face, and to present it I bring you a very pretty & little outfit, from that weekend back home, that I had saved to show you along with this big, but hopefully good, change.

Olá a todos!

Então muito provavelmente notaram que o título do meu blog "Tere's Scrubs" foi substituído por "Pretty Little Stories". Eu sei que é uma grande mudança e aqui estou para explicar o porquê.

Quando criei o blog e me pus a pensar em títulos ocorreu-me "Tere's Scrubs" como uma metáfora de medicina. Os scrubs (pijamas cirurgicos) estão para o hospital assim como a minha roupa está para a minha vida diária. Na altura achei que encaixava bem mas o feedback que recebi de parte de amigos sobre o nome não foi completamente positivo e o nome é um bocado confuso, assim que me pus a pensar num novo nome há já algum tempo e finalmente surgiu o "Pretty Little Stories" um nome que me define e ao blog, porque não só partilho a minha roupa como pequenas histórias do meu dia-a-dia (e mais coisas relacionadas com isso para vir em breve). 

Estive muito exitante sobre mudar o nome, porque mudanças implicam sempre mais trabalho e agora estou com o url antigo por todos os lados... Mas ou era agora ou nunca e acho que foi o momento certo para o fazer.

Ainda estou com url antigo porque não sei como meter o novo sem perder todos os meus seguidores, assim que se alguém souber como isso se faz toda a ajuda é bem-vinda! :)

Espero que gostem do título e entendam a mudança. Com o tempo vou partilhar novas coisas que estão pendentes há algum tempo e acreditem, darão todo o significado ao nome.

Quanto às fotos, tirei-as em Aveiro, quando lá estive da última vez e estavam guardadas para o dia em que ganhava coragem para mudar, porque um pretty little outfit como este agora faz todo o sentido :)

Hi everyone!
It's finally Friday! I have the strongest need of a long weekend to relax after such a hard week of work. But tomorrow I also wanted to do some Christmas shopping. How about you, have you started your Christmas shopping?
In 12 days I will be home again I and miss it terribly. This Christmas time always makes me feel more nostalgic and wanting even more to be with my family.
I am very looking forward this winter break and this year I can enjoy every moment, since this will be the first year in a long, long time without exams in January, so I can relax and enjoy Christmas entirely (but yes I still got to study, which medicine student doesn't have to study at any point...?)
I'm already in full Christmas mood, how about you? ;)

Finalmente Sexta-feira! Estou tão a precisar de um longo fim-de-semana para descansar depois de uma semana de tanto trabalho. Felizmente na próxima Segunda é feriado por aqui. Amanhã queria dar um salto às lojas e comprar alguns presentes em falta. E vocês já começaram a fazer as vossas compras de Natal?
Daqui a 12 dias estou de volta a casa e estou com tantas saudades que já conto os dias. Esta altura do Natal faz-me ficar super nostáligica e a querer ainda mais estar com a minha familia. 
Estou ansiosa que cheguem as férias, as minhas últimas férias da universidade, vou aproveitar cada momento, já que também vai ser o primeiro ano, desde há uns anos, que não tenho exames em Janeiro (yey!) e posso relaxar, mas mesmo assim, claro, tenho de estudar um bocado (é a sina dos estudantes de Medicina...)
Já estou em pleno espírito natalício, e vocês? ;)

Queria-vos falar também de um site recente que reúne blogues portugueses, o Blogging. Gostei muito do conceito e de haver uma página que mostre só blogues portugueses, divididos em diferentes categorias. Fiquei muito feliz deste site me ter incluído na sua lista de blogues de moda e já estive a navegar por lá e já descobri novos blogues que gostei muito! :)

The girl on fire

Hi everyone!
I hope that all true Hunger Games fans have got it by the title, but I'll explain it any way, that day I inspired on Katniss, "the girl on fire", from Hunger Games to dress up. The occasion was quite obvious, I went to see the Hunger Games movie, when I was back home, and maybe it's a little cliche, but that day I could only see red and golden. It's not exactly the type of clothing that she wears in the movie but the idea it represents.
I was thinking about saving this golden skirt for Christmas eve, but I missed it too much. It will appear again and again here, because it's one of my favorites.

About the jacket, there's a funny story behind. It must be one of the oldest garments in my closet. I bought it 6 years ago (yes, 6!) on Christmas 2008, after begging my mother to offer it to me. It's from Pepe Jeans and at the time was a bit expensive but I saw it as an investment for the future. And since it is the jacket I wear most every Winter, from 6 years already, and it's still perfect, mom, when you read this you will laugh, but you gotta give some credit to my 17-years-old-me that had such an eye to this investment!

And about the movie, I really like it, I'm a huge fan of the saga and after reading all the books I was so excited to see the movies and am very looking forward to the final one.

Acho que todos os fãs de Hunger Games devem ter percebido pelo título, mas para todos explico que nesse dia inspirei-me na Katniss, "a rapariga em chamas", dos Hunger Games para me vestir. A ocasião é bastante óbvia, fui ver o filme ao cinema no dia a seguir à estreia, quando estive em Aveiro, e talvez seja um bocado cliché, mas nesse dia estava tão na temática do filme e tão ansiosa por o ver que só queria vestir vermelho e dourado. 
Estava a pensar guardar esta saia para a noite de Natal mas tinha saudades de a usar, e há-de aparecer mais vezes por aqui, é de veludo, muito quentinha, e gosto muito dela.

Quanto ao casaco branco tem uma história engraçada por trás. Deve ser das peças mais antigas no meu guarda-roupa, tem 6 anos (sim assim tanto!), comprei-o no Natal de 2008, depois de ter feito uma birra à minha mãe que tinha mesmo, mesmo de o ter. É da Pepe Jeans (tenho uma paixão inesplicável por esta loja, se pudesse comprava tudo lá :p) e na altura foi um bocado caro, mas eu via-o como um investimento para o futuro. E como é o casaco que mais uso no Inverno, desde há 6 anos, e ainda está impecável, mãe, quando leres isto sei que te vais rir, mas a minha eu de 17 anos até teve algum olho para o negócio na altura!

E quanto ao filme, gostei mesmo, mesmo muito, sou uma fã da saga e mal posso esperar pelo próximo, se bem que, como já li os livros já sei o que aí vem :p
